Activities & Games
Our holistic approach to treatment at Royal Life Centers includes more than the traditional group and individual therapies. While detox is designed for focusing on rest and recovery, our residential program offers more hands-on activities that guests may choose to participate in between individual and group therapies. We incorporate fun, engaging activities, such as music, art, journaling, and video games. We want treatment to be exciting as well as mentally stimulating.
At Royal Life Centers, we strongly encourage guests to discover interests and develop hobbies that create a positive environment for recovery. Not only is doing so beneficial to long-term recovery, but it also improves the guest’s quality of life. Because We Care, we facilitate games and activities to stimulate socialization among guests. This encourages individuals to begin building a sober network that will be supportive after completing treatment. Our studies have shown that socialization and a strong support system is key to maintaining a healthy life, free of substance abuse. In fact, some would even say that it is one of the best forms of treatment.
It’s no myth that mental wellness goes hand-in-hand with physical health. For this reason, we encourage our guests who have completed detox to get some form of exercise regularly, as well as practice simple meditations and yoga. Easy activities such as short walk each day can have amazing health benefits, especially in early recovery. Physical activity has been proven to boost mood, improve metabolism, and promote better sleep. At Royal Life Centers, we offer physical wellness activities such as a group CrossFit class, as well as mental relaxation techniques such as yoga. We also encourage healthy eating.
Our goal is to teach guests the necessary life skills that they need to maintain long-term sobriety, as well as be an educator for overall wellness. At Royal Life Centers, we work to bring awareness to individuals’ triggers and develop a plan to prevent relapse. Through social activity, exercise, mental relaxation and healthy eating, our guests learn coping skills. We aim to assist them in putting these skills into practice as they move on to PHP, IOP, grad housing, and beyond. The health and well-being of our guests remain the most important part of what we do. Because We Care.
